  • Federal DATA Act Work Begins President Obama signed the Digital Accountability and Transparency (DATA) Act in May, and Federal agencies have begun the process to prepare for the law’s requirements. The DATA Transparency Coalition examines recent Treasury Department actions to comply with the law.
  • GSA Seeks Public Comment on FAPIIS Collection Forms The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act of 2009 requires the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to develop a database to track the history performance of grant recipients. OMB issued proposed guidance in 2010 detailing the implementation of the Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System (FAPIIS). In 2011, OMB announced it did not have the necessary financial resources to continue implementing FAPIIS. On July 3rd, 2014, the General Services Administration (GSA) issued a notice in the Federal Register seeking the public’s input on the FAPIIS collection form. GSA stated in the notice that OMB is in the process of finalizing the guidance on FAPIIS. Is it possible that FAPIIS will become a reality? OMB has not made any public comments about the system since 2011, so it is difficult to draw any conclusions. Stay tuned to this blog for any additional information!
