Taking it to the Next Level at the 2022 NGMA Annual Grants Training

Management Concepts was proud to sponsor, exhibit, and present a session at the National Grants Management Association (NGMA) Annual Grants Training (AGT), held on April 19–21, 2022, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.

The conference was held in person for the first time since 2019, and everyone was excited to reconnect after two years of virtual conferences and events. Over 800 attendees filled the exhibit hall and session rooms, earning CE credits and networking with colleagues.

As in AGT 2020 and 2021, the pandemic and its effects were a dominating topic—this time with a focus on the American Rescue Plan and the challenges of managing that funding. The presentation of the Annual Grants Survey results highlighted the changes COVID-19 has brought into the field, with increased remote work and continued efforts to lessen the administrative burden on grantors and grantees. Attention was also given to new developments in technology and policy, including discussions about the Grant Reporting Efficiency and Agreements Transparency (GREAT) Act and the Grants Management Quality Service Management Organization presenting the progress made on LogIn.Gov.

Management Concepts was excited to present our session, “Single Audit 101 for Grants Managers—Understanding Audit Terms and How Findings Impact Your Grant Management.” Grants Product Manager Director Sarah Hluchan partnered with Financial Management Product Management Director Tom Devine in a lively presentation about decoding what all those “audit words” mean, what the key elements of the single audit are, and what it all means for grant managers. The session was standing room only, with 50 attendees turned away due to capacity limits. Due to the overwhelming response, Management Concepts is excited to partner again with NGMA to present the session as an NGMA Webinar in June!
